jQuery fadeToggle dropdown issue

I have been using this megamenu template from https://github.com/marioloncarek/megamenu-js

I uploaded a working version here: http://mateitudor.com/megamenu/

Problem: how can I prevent any pointer events from happening if the fade out animation has begun? i.e. if it fades out it should no longer interact.

Help would be very appreciated. Thank you.
